The large horseshoe shaped harbour of Port de Sóller is one of the most picturesque of Majorca’s harbours. Surrounded by forested hills atop of which sit hotels and residential areas.
The backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains add to the diverse and rugged landscape. This makes this resort the perfect holiday destination for the adventurous traveler.
Port de Sóller Resort & Beaches
The town of Sóller lies 5 km’s inland. The charming vintage tram offers good transport links to Port de Sóller. Most holidaymakers prefer to be close to the beach and stay in the hotels that surround the bay’s resort area.
The sandy beach, although not very wide, runs the length of the bay. Running alongside the beach is the promenade. Here bathers can enjoy refreshments in one of the bars or restaurants.
Harbour & Water Activities
The north end of the bay is home to the busy harbour where it’s possible to book a variety of water activities. These include sailing and scuba diving. You can take a trip on a charter boat and head off to explore the wonderful coastline.
The coastline here boasts many hidden coves that are perfect for snorkeling.. For lovely sunset views, choose one of the harbour bars or restaurants for a drink or meal. These offer a good selection of local and imported drinks and cuisine to suit all tastes.
