The winter average temperature in Lanzarote is 17 Celsius which does not decrease much lower. The average temperature during the hotter summer months is 25 Celsius. This is likely to be much hotter in July, August and September.
Weather in Lanzarote in September, October & November
The Weather in Lanzarote in Autumn is generally excellent. This is especially true for the months of September, October and November which remain hot. The temperature in September is almost as hot as August. The end of September is when the temperature begins to decrease.
October and November will also have good temperatures but it will rain for several days at least for each of those months
September is the beginning of autumn when the temperature begins to drop. Most of September is as hot as August with an average temperature of around 25 Celsius. September has a good 8 hours of sunshine and the sea temperature is a warm 22 Celsius. Although the temperatures is dropping you can expect to see plenty of days that top 30 Celsius. A high temperature of 40.5 Celsius has been recorded in September. You will be unlucky to see more than one or two days of rain during this month.
October sees a considerable drop of around two Celsius after a hot September. The weather in October in Lanzarote is excellent with an average temperature of 23 Celsius.
The daily hours of sunshine will remain at 8 and the sea temperature will stay at 22 Celsius. October sees two or three days rainfall on average. The precipitation levels are quite low during this month. A high temperature of 37.1 Celsius has been recorded in October. You are likely to see plenty of days in the high twenties and creeping up to 30 Celsius.
November sees another drop in temperature in Lanzarote. The sea temperature will decrease to 21 Celsius. The average daily temperature during November is a warm 21 Celsius. There will be a significant increase in the amount of rainfall and precipitation. The evenings will begin to feel much cooler leading into the winter months. The sun can still reach high temperatures in November. This month has recorded a high temperature of 34.2 Celsius in recent times.
Weather in Lanzarote in December, January & February
The winter months of December, January and February are the coldest in Lanzarote. This is when the yearly temperature reaches it’s lowest. There will be plenty more rainfall and days of rain. The average temperature in winter is 17 – 18 Celsius and the hours of sunshine will decrease also.
December is by far the rainiest month in Lanzarote with around four or five days of rainfall. This month sees double the precipitation of most months. The average temperature is still warm at 19 Celsius but the hours of sunshine drop to 6 during December. There is also a drop in sea temperature to 20 Celsius. The evenings during December will now be much cooler. They are unlikely to drop much below 15 Celsius. The recorded high temperature in recent years in December is 27.5 Celsius. This is lower than any other month of the year.
January is the coldest month in Lanzarote. This is also one of the most popular for visitors to the Canary Islands in general. The average daily temperature is 17 Celsius but there will still be plenty of days that reach 20 Celsius. The hours of sunshine are a touch more than December but this is marginal. January will see around three days of rainfall. The precipitation will be much less than the previous month. A record high temperature during January was 27.9 Celsius. The sea temperature will now drop to 19 Celsius.
February sees the temperature increasing along with the hours of expected sunshine. The average temperature during February will rise to 18 Celsius. The sea level will drop to this temperature also. This month sees more rainfall than January. You can expect around three days of rainfall. The evening temperature will also increase as winter reaches it’s conclusion at the end of the month. The highest recorded temperature in recent years in February was as high as 29 Celsius. It’s likely you will need some sun tan cream later in this month.
Weather In Lanzarote in March, April & May
The spring weather In Lanzarote is particularly good. March, April and May are also popular with tourists. The temperature is now increasing and the rainfall is becoming less frequent.
March is the beginning of spring when the temperature will begin to increase. This is especially true towards the end of the month. The hours of sunshine will increase to 8 hours. The average temperature will also increase to 19 Celsius. There will likely be a few days of rainfall but the precipitation will be much less than February. The sea temperature will remain at a chilly 18 Celsius.

April sees another noticeable increase in the temperature. The hours of sunshine will also increase to 9 hours. Here, the average temperature during April is 20 Celsius with a low of 17 Celsius. The amount of rainfall in April is much less than previous months and the sea level increases to 19 Celsius. The month of April has recorded a high temperature of 36.3 Celsius in Lanzarote.
May is the final spring month but could quite be considered a summer month. The average temperature in May is 21 Celsius. This will likely be closer to 25 Celsius for many days of this month. There is usually little to no rainfall during May. The hours of sunshine will increase to 10 leading into summer. The sea temperature will remain at 19 Celsius for most of this month. A high temperature of 42.6 Celsius has been recorded in May. Only July and August has seen a hotter temperature in recent years.
Weather in Lanzarote in June, July & August
The summer weather in Lanzarote is hot with it’s closeness to the Western Sahara. Lanzarote is the hottest of the Canary Islands in summer, especially on the eastern coast. This is due to the warm air blown from the Sahara Desert. This hot air can sometimes create very hazy conditions. Visibility becomes much more difficult. The average temperature in summer is around 25 Celsius. May, June, July, August and September have seen temperatures of more then 40 Celsius.
June is the beginning of the summer months in Lazarote. This is when the temperature will increase a lot. The average temperature in June is 23 Celsius but this is much hotter towards the end of the month. The hours of sunshine will remain at 10 but the sea temperature will increase to 21 Celsius. There is precious little rainfall during this month in recent years. It’s common for the temperature during June to top 30 Celsius. A high temperature of 40.6 Celsius was recorded during June.
July is one of the hottest months in Lanzarote when the temperature will top 30 Celsius. The average temperature for the month is 26 Celsius but will seem much hotter for most of the month. There has never been any recorded rainfall in July over the last 30 years at least. The hours of sunshine will remain at 10 and the sea temperature will remain at 21 Celsius. July has recorded a high temperature of 42.9 Celsius. Only August has recorded a hotter temperature in recent years.
August is the hottest month in Lanzarote with an average temperature of at least 25 Celsius. Most days of August will be much hotter than the monthly average suggests. The temperature will regularly exceed 30 Celsius. August, like July has no rainfall at all but the sea temperature increases to 22 Celsius. The hottest temperature recorded in August is a baking 43.6 Celsius. Hotter than any other monthly high temperature.
